Showers

  • In the US, showers account for 18% of indoor water use and 37% of a home’s hot water use.
  • A family of four, each showering 5 minutes a day, will use anywhere from 350-700 gallons of water PER WEEK.
  • 700 gallons of water is a three year drinking supply for one person in the US.
  • Standard showerheads installed after 1192 are typically 2.5 gpm; those older than 1992 were typically 5 to 5.5 gpm
