DR-Series Whole House Water Softener & Filtration System
The Oceanus DR-Series is a revolutionary water treatment system. It combines two of the most popular water treatment products (a water softener & whole house carbon filter) into one extraordinary system. The DR-Series is filled with millions of tiny resin beads that remove the hardness minerals from the water; but what makes the DR Series so special is the second type of resin it contains. The white resin acts like a carbon filter. It reduces the levels of chlorine, nitrates and other contaminants in the water. The white resin works in the same manner as the regular resin, but instead of softening the water it filters it. One of the drawbacks to regular whole house carbon filters is the fact that they use carbon to filter the water. Carbon can only absorb so much from the water. At this point the carbon needs to be replaced. The carbon generally lasts 5 years. The DR-Series changes all this by using the white resin to filter the water. Unlike the carbon that is used in whole house filters, the white resin never needs to be replaced. It is cleaned during the regeneration cycle just like the softening resin. The chloride from the potassium chloride brine solution cleans the white resin, while the potassium cleans the softening resin. You get the benefit of both the water softener and the whole house filter without the costly media changes. But best of all you get all this in one very affordable system.
