Reverse Osmosis technology has been around since the early 1960s when researchers began examining ways in which pure water could be extracted from salty water. By forcing (pressurizing) water through a semi-permeable membrane all molecules that are larger than water will be rejected at the membranes surface. Only the water will be allowed to flow through the membrane to your tap. The resulting water is ~99% pure. You get bottled water quality straight from the tap, whenever you want.
